In as little as 40 days, the Hebrews were already forgetful of God’s miracles of the Exodus leading up to the battle with Amalek where God proved to be their banner.
Dr. W. L. Seaver is a retired associate professor of statistics at the University of Tennessee. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics, a MBA, and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theologial Seminary. He is an author of about 40 articles and five books (A Mosaic of Faith, Fiery Faith, Prayer: Communing with God on Everything, and a series entitled Purring in God’s Ears 1 and 2. He is currently working on two new books, one entitled Corners based out of Exodus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. He is also a researcher and consultant whose expertise is in finding patterns in data and the Scriptures over time. He has developed discipleship ministries with athletes, students, faculty, small groups, and the local church. He has pastored in two churches but has been filling in for his pastor and others as the occasion arise. He and his wife, Barbara, have three grown children and three grandchildren.

God provides just what we need when we need it, but He wants us to rely on Him on not our own abilities. Complaining and grumbling does not bring glory to God and leads us to forget his past blessings and provision. Instead, we should rely on manna from God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.
